trevi

trevi was a beautiful little hilltop town,
still surrounded by its medieval walls.

there wasn't much to do in trevi, except walk around. but the sights were incredible, with narrow, winding streets too inaccessible for car traffic, so green with undergrowth.

trevi even had houses built over its streets, which was typical of medieval towns but rare to find today.

this little street almost seems to pass underground.

the church of sant' emiliano at the center of town has typical romanesque carvings at the rounded rear chapels.

the portal to the church had a late medieval fresco showing umbria's two most popular saints, francis and clare of assisi, adoring the madonna and child.
